What Is the European Trading Online Voucher Scheme (eTOV)?
The European Trading Online Voucher offers co-funding of up to €7,500 for eligible Irish SMEs. It supports online trading through custom website development, ecommerce platforms, digital marketing, and search engine optimisation. Administered under the government’s National Digital Strategy, the scheme aims to help applicant businesses expand their online sales, improve digital capabilities, and reach new markets using tools aligned with business goals. It covers up to 50% of project costs (excluding VAT). The applicant business pays their portion, and the supplier draws the rest from the voucher scheme.
Full Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the eTOV scheme, your business must:
- Operate in the Republic of Ireland
- Have 50 or fewer employees
- Turnover less than €5 million per annum
- Be trading for a minimum of 3 months
- Use an approved third-party supplier
- Ensure no costs are incurred before approval
- Complete work within 3 months from offer date
- Not fall under excluded NACE codes
Previous voucher recipients may apply again if requirements are met.
How to Apply
Applications are made through Local Enterprise Office-approved suppliers. You cannot apply via eTOVS.com directly. Begin by discussing your trading online project with a registered supplier.
Together, you complete the application form. Once submitted, it goes to the evaluation committee for review. If approved, a Letter of Offer is issued with a 3-month window for delivery (plus one-month extension if necessary).
To draw down funding, submit:
- Supplier invoice
- Proof of payment for your 50%
- CRO registration
- Signed completion declaration
The supplier claims the remaining portion.
